# Creating jobs

> Open a vacancy, set its commercial terms, and link the client and owners.

_Collection: Jobs & Pipeline (jobs-pipeline) — Kepler Help Center. Canonical: https://keplercrm.com/support/articles/creating-jobs/_

A job is a vacancy you're working for a client. It carries the brief, the commercial terms, the pipeline of candidates, interviews, advertising channels and inbound applicants.

## Creating a job

  - Open **Jobs** in the sidebar and click **Add Job** — or create from the company page's Jobs tab to pre-link the client.

  - Give it a title and link the **company**.

  - Fill in the brief and details (all editable later on the job's **Details** tab).

## Key job fields

| Field | Notes |
| --- | --- |
| Status | Where the job stands — e.g. open, on hold, closed. Closed jobs ask for a Closed Reason so your reporting shows why business was won or lost. |
| Owner / account manager | Who runs the role and who owns the client relationship. Owners receive notifications for inbound applicants and AI suggestions on the job. |
| Priority | Configurable priority levels to triage your job list. |
| Employment type | Full-time, Part-time, Contract or Internship. |
| Fee type & terms | How you bill — percentage, fixed, hourly margin or retained — feeding placement reporting. |
| Exclusivity | Whether you hold the role exclusively — useful for prioritisation and reports. |
| Description | The internal brief. The advertised copy can differ — see Publishing jobs . |

## The job page

Tabs on a job are **Pipeline** (the candidate board and table), **Details**, **Interviews**, **Matching** (AI shortlist), **Advertising**, **Inbound** (applicant review), **Lists**, **Tasks**, **Notes**, **Calls**, **Files** and **History** (the timeline). The header shows the job's status, client, core details, opened date, the number of candidates in the pipeline and the number placed.

The record sidebar beside the tabs holds the job's identity fields — **Client company**, **Status**, **Owner**, **Account manager** and **Hiring contact** — each editable in place.

## After creating

  - Add candidates to the [pipeline](/support/articles/pipeline-stages/) from your database, or let [AI matching](/support/articles/ai-candidate-matching/) build a ranked shortlist from your existing candidates.

  - Advertise it — publish to your [job portal](/support/articles/publishing-jobs/) or [connect a LinkedIn job](/support/articles/linkedin-applications/).

> **TIP:** Fill in salary, location and key skills on the job — AI matching and the inbound applicant scoring both read these to rank candidates accurately.
