_Collection: Companies, Contacts & Candidates (records) — Kepler Help Center. Canonical: https://keplercrm.com/support/articles/managing-companies/_

Companies are the client side of your desk — every job belongs to a company, and applications and placements all roll up to it.

## Creating a company

  - Open **Companies** in the sidebar and click **Add Company**.

  - Enter the name and any details you have — website, location, industry.

  - Save. If the company has a website, Kepler fetches its logo automatically in the background.

Companies are also created automatically when you accept email-domain matches (if enabled under **Settings → Record Creation**) and during CSV imports.

## The company page

Open any company to see its full account picture across tabs:

| Tab | What's in it |
| --- | --- |
| Overview | Key fields, owner, and a summary of recent activity. |
| Contacts | Everyone you know at the company. Add contacts directly from here. |
| Jobs | All vacancies for this client, with status and pipeline counts. |
| Applications | Every candidate in process across the client's jobs, with stage and outcome. |
| Interviews | Interview history across the company's jobs. |
| Placements | Deals closed with this client — fees, start dates, status. |
| Lists | Lists this company belongs to (e.g. "Key accounts Q3"). |
| Communications | Synced conversations with anyone at the company's domain. |
| Calls | Recorded calls and meeting intelligence linked to the company. |
| Notes / Tasks / Files | Account notes and logged interactions, to-dos, and documents such as terms of business. |
| History | The full chronological timeline of everything above. |

## Editing fields

Click any field on the Overview tab to edit it inline. The record sidebar beside the tabs holds the company's core details — **Domains**, **Industry**, **Location** and **LinkedIn** by default — plus a **Record** section showing **Created** and **Last activity**. The default rows are a workspace choice: remove one you don't use, or add another from the field picker. Add your own fields — payment terms, PSL status, fee agreement — via [custom fields](/support/articles/custom-fields/).

Each of these fields carries a **History** icon. Open it to see every value the field has held, who or what set it — a person, or a badge for **AI**, **Import**, **Sync**, **Merge**, **Automation**, **System** or **API** — and when. Use **Restore this value** to put a previous value back.

> **TIP:** The Communications tab matches by domain , so a thread with a hiring manager you haven't saved as a contact yet still shows up on the company. Convert them into a contact in one click when you're ready.
