# Updating profiles from LinkedIn

> Refresh a person's title, employer and location from their LinkedIn profile, one at a time, in bulk or automatically, with Compare and Undo.

_Collection: Companies, Contacts & Candidates (records) — Kepler Help Center. Canonical: https://keplercrm.com/support/articles/updating-profiles-from-linkedin/_

People change jobs. **Update from LinkedIn** reads a candidate's or contact's LinkedIn profile and brings their title, employer and location up to date in Kepler. It costs 1 enrichment credit, and only when something has changed.

The record needs a confirmed LinkedIn profile first. If it hasn't got one, see [Finding emails, mobiles and LinkedIn profiles](/support/articles/finding-contact-details/).

## Update one person

  - On the record, select **Update from LinkedIn** above their details.

  - In a table, use the icon in the name column (its tooltip says when the profile was last checked), or right-click the row and choose **Update from LinkedIn (1, if changed)**.

Kepler applies the changes straight away and says what changed, with **Undo** and **Compare**. If nothing changed, it tells you so (for example **LinkedIn matches Kepler**) and nothing is charged.

## Compare and undo

**Compare** opens **LinkedIn update**, listing each change beside the old value. **Revert** or **Remove** a single change, **View on LinkedIn** to check the source, or **Undo all**. A new role Kepler can't match to an existing one is added as a new role, so check the work history after an update.

## Update many at once

  - Select rows on **Candidates** or **Contacts** and choose **Find details**.

  - Open the **Profile updates** tab and choose **Not checked in 6 months** or all of the selected people.

  - Select **Check N profiles**. Each update has Compare and Undo, and costs 1 credit only when something changed.

## Keep profiles up to date automatically

An admin can turn on **Update from LinkedIn profiles automatically** under **Automatic** on **Settings → Enrichment**. It's off until someone turns it on. Then choose:

  - **How often**: every 3, 6 or 12 months per person.

  - **At most**: a cap on profiles checked each month, so credits stay predictable.

People in active pipelines are checked first. Profiles can be a few weeks behind LinkedIn itself.
