# Views, filters & sorting

> Save table and kanban views with their own filters, sort rules and columns — for you or the whole team.

_Collection: Companies, Contacts & Candidates (records) — Kepler Help Center. Canonical: https://keplercrm.com/support/articles/views-filters-and-sorting/_

Every record list in Kepler (Candidates, Jobs, Companies, Contacts, Placements…) can be shaped into **views** — saved combinations of display mode, filters, sorting and visible attributes. Think of a view as a saved answer to a question: "my open contract roles", "candidates added this month", "clients with no activity in 30 days".

## Filters

Click **Filter** in the list toolbar and add one or more rules. Each rule is an attribute, an operator and a value — operators adapt to the attribute type (contains/is for text, is any of for selects, before/after for dates, greater/less for numbers). Stack as many rules as you need; records must match all of them.

## Sorting

Add sort rules the same way. Multiple rules apply in order — drag them to change priority (for example: sort by stage, then by last activity). The toolbar shows the active sort at a glance.

## Table mode

  - Choose which attributes appear as columns with the attribute picker.

  - Click any cell to edit inline — selects open a picker, text edits in place.

  - Right-click a cell for **Copy**, **Paste**, **View edit history** and **Clear value**.

  - Select multiple rows for bulk actions — **Add to list**, **Delete** (or **Remove from list** on a list page), and, on Contacts and Companies with exactly two rows ticked, **Merge** under **More actions**.

## Kanban mode

Switch the display mode to **kanban** to lay records out as cards grouped by a status or select field — candidate availability, job status, or any select custom field. Drag cards between columns to update the underlying field. Choose which attributes appear on cards via **Card attributes**.

> **NOTE:** Kanban needs a status/select field to group by. If the record type doesn't have one yet, Kepler prompts you to pick or create one when you save a kanban view.

## Saving and managing views

  - Shape the list — filters, sort, columns, display mode.

  - Open the view switcher and choose **New view**; name it and save.

  - Your view appears in the switcher. Use the menu on a view to **Rename**, **Duplicate** (the suggested name is "<view name> copy") or delete it.

When you create or duplicate a view, choose **Private** to keep it to yourself or **Team** to share it with the workspace.

Views persist per record type, so your "Hot candidates" view is always one click away when you return to the Candidates page. Job pipeline and matching tabs have their own view namespaces too, shared across the team.

> **TIP:** Build one view per recurring ritual — Monday pipeline review, BD call-list, compliance check — instead of rebuilding filters every time. Duplicating an existing view is the fastest way to make a variant.
