Recording a meeting in the desktop app

Record your microphone locally and save the result to Kepler for a transcript and meeting notes, in supported desktop apps.

In supported Kepler desktop apps, a meeting prompt can offer to record your microphone locally. This flow is separate from the calendar-based AI Note Taker and does not appear in the browser. Availability depends on your desktop app and recording support.

Start and stop recording

  1. When Kepler detects a meeting using your microphone, review the prompt. On first use, read Local meeting capture and choose Enable & Record; later prompts offer Record transcript. Choose Not now or Dismiss to skip.
  2. The Recording microphone indicator and elapsed time show that capture is running. This records your microphone; do not assume it captures every other participant's audio. Tell attendees about recording and obtain any required consent.
  3. Choose Stop when finished.

Save the recording to Kepler

Audio stays on your device until you choose Save to Kepler. Stopping the recording does not upload it automatically. After you save, wait for the upload to finish; Kepler transcribes it in the background. Choose Open Calls to find the result when ready.

If uploading fails, keep the recording prompt open and choose Retry saving. Dismissing the finished-recording prompt does not save it to the CRM. If no recording prompt appears, confirm you are using a supported desktop app and contact support for help with availability.
