The Communications page
Browse synced conversations grouped by person, switch folders, and reply without leaving Kepler.
Communications is your own inbox: one list of conversations from the accounts you connected. Use the folder menu to switch between Inbox, Unread, Drafts, Sent, Archived and Deleted, and the search box to search the folder you're in.
A teammate's mailbox never appears here, even when they share it with you. Mail they share shows on the related records' Communications tabs instead.
Channels
Tabs for All, Email and WhatsApp sit above the list. If you haven't linked a WhatsApp number yet, the WhatsApp tab offers to link one; see Connecting your WhatsApp number for setup and recovery. Each conversation shows who it's with and the latest activity.
Browsing
- Select a conversation to read the full thread. It opens with the person's details beside it; use Show contact panel / Hide contact panel (
I) to toggle them. - Attachments are listed with each message and can be previewed; CVs detected among them also land on the matching candidate's Documents tab.
- Images in a received email that load from the web are held back until you allow them. Choose Show on the Images hidden banner for this thread, or Always show to trust that sender, or anyone at their company's domain. Shared addresses such as Gmail or Outlook are trusted one sender at a time. This choice is remembered for you in this browser.
- Click Compose to start a new email — see Sending email from Kepler.
Organising your inbox
Use a thread's menu to Mark as read or Mark as unread, archive it, or choose Delete thread. Open Archived or Deleted to find it again and choose Restore to inbox.
These are personal reading preferences inside Kepler. They do not archive or delete messages in Gmail or Outlook, change their read status there, or change another teammate's view. Marking a message read in your provider also does not clear its unread marker in Kepler.
Communications on record pages
The same data appears on each record: candidates and contacts have a Communications tab matched by their email address; companies match by domain, so every thread with anyone at the client shows on the account. What you can see always respects each account's sharing setting.
AI and your inbox
Synced mail is one of Kepler AI's main inputs: it links threads to the right records, extracts facts (a new phone number, a notice period, interview availability) and proposes record updates or follow-up tasks. Anything that would change your data appears as an AI suggestion first.
Looking for one specific message? Global search (Cmd/Ctrl + K) is usually faster than browsing — search the person's name and jump to their record's Communications tab.
