The LinkedIn Chrome extension
See who’s already in your CRM while browsing LinkedIn, and add new candidates, contacts or companies in one click.
Kepler CRM is a browser extension that lives in a side panel while you browse LinkedIn. On any profile it tells you whether the person is already in your CRM — and if not, saves them as a candidate or contact without copy-paste.
Installing
The extension works in Chrome, Edge and other Chromium browsers. Install Kepler CRM from the Chrome Web Store, then pin the Kepler icon to your toolbar so the side panel is one click away.
The panel belongs to LinkedIn: open it on a LinkedIn tab and it stays with that tab, and other sites don't show it. A new LinkedIn tab starts with the panel closed — click the Kepler icon to open it. If you'd rather keep one panel open everywhere, turn on Keep the panel open on every site in the panel's settings.
Signing in
- Click the Kepler toolbar icon to open the side panel.
- Click Sign in with Kepler. Kepler opens in a browser tab; if you're signed in there, click Connect extension and the panel signs you in. (Use email and password instead is there if that hand-off doesn't work for you.)
- If you belong to more than one workspace, choose one under Choose a workspace — people you import go there. You can switch any time in the panel's settings.
Signing out of the extension doesn't sign you out of Kepler in the browser.
Using it on LinkedIn
- Open any LinkedIn profile (regular profiles, Sales Navigator lead pages and Recruiter profiles work). The panel reads the person's name, headline, location, current company and about section, plus their work history and education. Reading a long profile can take a few seconds while the extension scrolls through it.
- Already in Kepler? The panel checks by LinkedIn URL and email and shows the existing candidate or contact so you don't create a twin. From there you can read their details, activity, jobs and list memberships, add them to a list, save a note or comment, create a task, or choose Open in Kepler CRM.
- New person? Every field is editable before saving, and you can untick any role or school you don't want saved. Choose Candidate or Contact, review the fields, then click Add candidate or Add contact. Select Open in Kepler CRM after saving to open the record.
- The panel re-scans automatically as you move between profiles; use the ⟳ refresh button if a slow page hasn't finished loading.
With the panel closed, a one-line Kepler bar sits under the profile header: it says whether the person is in Kepler and offers Add candidate / Add contact, or a quick note or task. You can turn it off in the panel's settings under On LinkedIn pages.
Finding email and mobile
If your role can run lookups (set under Settings → Enrichment), the add form has a contact details block with Find next to work email, mobile and personal email, showing what each costs in credits. A find that comes back empty isn't charged. You don't have to wait: add the person straight away, and details still being looked up go onto their record when they're found, even if you close the panel. On someone already in Kepler, the same Find appears next to each missing detail.
Updating someone already in Kepler
When LinkedIn differs from what Kepler has, the panel says so above the record. Open it to see the record's work experience with LinkedIn's differences marked on the roles they change. Only the latest change — a new job, or the current role ending — starts ticked; older differences, roles or schools only on LinkedIn, and the location are listed for you to tick if you want them. Click Update record to apply what's ticked, and Undo if you change your mind. Reviewing alone doesn't change the record. A candidate's current title isn't offered on its own: it follows their newest role. A role description from LinkedIn fills a blank one but never replaces the description Kepler already has.
To put an existing candidate into a pipeline, click Add to job, search the open jobs and select one. Jobs they already belong to are excluded from the picker.
Company pages and search results
On a LinkedIn company page that isn't in Kepler, the panel shows a form filled from the page — name, website, industry, location, LinkedIn and description (with the employee range added to the description). Edit anything, then click Add company. On search-results pages (LinkedIn, Sales Navigator and Recruiter), each person is marked as in Kepler or not. + Candidate or + Contact opens that person's profile with the panel ready; nothing is saved until you click Add. There is no bulk import — people are added one at a time from their profile.
Good to know
- Candidates imported this way are tagged with source: LinkedIn, so you can filter and report on sourcing channel.
- LinkedIn rarely shows email and phone — use Find, add them in the panel before saving, or add them later on the record.
- If LinkedIn changes its page markup, a field can occasionally come through empty — everything is editable, so a miss never blocks an import.
The extension uses your normal Kepler login and workspace permissions — it can only see and create what you can in the app.
